Women for a Better Carlsbad, a new initiative designed to empower local women by creating a platform for community engagement, education, and volunteer opportunities, is officially launching with an Inaugural Luncheon on Friday, November 15.
This inspiring initiative is the brainchild of four passionate Carlsbad residents: Therese Rodriguez, Ekta Bhakta, Kat Davis, and Jennifer Watson, who have recognized the growing need for a space where women can connect, learn, and have their voices heard in this community.
The idea for Women for a Better Carlsbad was inspired by the successful work of the Women for a Better Artesia and the Power of SHE women’s networking group already active in Carlsbad. The founders, each deeply involved in the community in their professional and personal lives, saw the need for a platform that would empower more women in Carlsbad to become educated, engaged, and active participants in shaping our community’s future.
The theme for Friday’s event is “Girlfriends and Gratitude.” The inaugural luncheon is free to attend, and all women in Carlsbad are welcome to come, connect, and be part of this exciting new chapter for the community. Whether they are looking to network, learn more about local government, or simply meet other women who are passionate about making Carlsbad an even better place to live, this is the perfect opportunity to get involved.
This event promises to be a heartwarming and inspiring gathering, offering an opportunity for women in Carlsbad to come together, connect, and reflect on the power of friendship and gratitude in our lives. Each luncheon in the series will focus on a different theme and feature:
• Local Government Updates – Hear from city officials about important developments and community initiatives.
• Non-Profit Organization Spotlight – Learn about a local non-profit doing impactful work in our community.
• Call to Action – Leave each luncheon with a tangible way to get involved and make a difference.
Women for a Better Carlsbad would like to extend a special thank you to The Carlsbad Local for sponsoring the inaugural luncheon, noting the newspaper’s commitment to sharing local stories, uplifting the community, and promoting positivity aligns perfectly with the mission of this new organization.
