Cavemen, Cavegirl Soccer
Carlsbad High School’s Cavemen and Cavegirl soccer teams continue District 4/5A play on Saturday, October 5.
The Cavemen will host Roswell while the Cavegirls pack their bags and head to the Alien City to take on the Coyotes. Games at both sites will see the junior varsity taking the field at 11 a.m., followed by the varsity at 1 p.m.
Conference action will continue on Tuesday, October 8, with the Cavegirls entertaining the Hobbs Eagles. Game times have been scheduled for 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
The Cavemen, also set to battle the Eagles, will travel to Hobbs. Play is set to get underway at 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. there.
Both the Cavemen and Cavegirls opened conference play on Tuesday, October 1, against the Clovis Wildcats. The Cavegirls entered the game at 4-10 on the year, the Cavemen at 2-12.
Due to deadline restraints, the results of those games will be posted in the October 11 edition of the Carlsbad Local.
Cavegirl Volleyball
On Saturday, September 28, the Cavegirl volleyball team dropped a match to Chaparral. CHS fell to the Lobos in straight sets, 13-25, 15-25, and 16-25. The loss dropped Carlsbad to 6-8 on the year.
The Cavegirls will compete next on Tuesday, October 8, against the Goddard Rockets in Carlsbad. The JV’s will take the floor first at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity at 6 p.m.
CHS battled the Alamogordo Tigers on Tuesday, October 1, in Alamogordo. Due to deadline restraints, the results of the game will be posted in the October 11 edition of the Carlsbad Local.
