Volleyball at Roswell Tournament
After an 0-3 start, new Cavegirl head coach Taylor Hardison’s girls have won three of their last four volleyball games. Currently, they stand 3-4 on the year.
Last week, September 6-7, the Cavegirls competed at the Moriarty Invitational. Overall, they logged a 2-1 record at the meet. CHS defeated Highland 3-0 and Bosque 3-1. Their lone loss came via District 4/5A foe Clovis, 3-0.
Friday and Saturday, September 13-14, the Cavegirls will compete at the Roswell Invitational.
On Tuesday, September 17, the Cavegirls will travel to Lovington to take on the Lady Wildcats. It will be the second time the two teams have met this season. On September 3, Lovington downed CHS 3-0. The JVs will take the court first at 5 p.m., followed by the varsity at 6 p.m.
Cavegirl Soccer at Academy Invite
The Cavegirl soccer team will be in Albuquerque this week, Thursday through Saturday, to compete in the Albuquerque Academy Invitational.
The Cavegirls, 3-4 as they head into the tournament, will be hoping to right their ship. Coach Misty Long’s girls have unsarcastically dropped four of their last five outings.
On Thursday, September 7, CHS appeared to be back on track, having registered a 3-0 victory over the Centennial Hawks. However, on Saturday, September 7, the Cavegirls dropped a tough-fought game to Mayfield 2-0.
Following their effort at the Albuquerque Academy Invitational, Carlsbad will take on the Artesia Bulldogs in Artesia on Tuesday, September 17. Game times are set for 4:30 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.
