Lakeview’s biggest annual event, its family Thanksgiving Dinner celebrated on the Tuesday evening before Thanksgiving, drew more than 200 guests this year.
Families are invited each year to come and enjoy turkey, dressing, and the trimmings with their loved ones at the nursing home and assisted living, and many are from out of town.
This year, more than 200 guests brought desserts, vegetables, and salads to round out all the traditional foods Northgate’s excellent cooks provided. Some families had as many as 30 people and four generations in attendance. A photographer and photo shoot were set up to capture families all coming together.
Roxy Knealing, Activity Director, and her staff beautifully decorated the dining room and activity center with pumpkins and fall florals.
The Dietary staff, led by Cristie Ethridge, cooked and carved beautiful turkeys and served her baker’s homemade rolls that are second to none for all to enjoy. Other department leaders and staff members helped serve and clean up after this amazing event. Lakeview residents are so blessed to spend this special time with their families and loved ones, as well as the many staff members who have become their extended family.
Lakeview Christian Home began in 1960 as a not-for-profit nursing and assisted living facility caring for seniors and residents needing full nursing care.
They were named BEST of the BEST of top nursing homes in New Mexico in 2021 and 2022. Pinnacle, an independent customer satisfaction survey company, rates them in dignity and respect, cleanliness, nursing care, activities, and nursing services. They have enjoyed a 5-star rating from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid for the last five years. The 5-star rating from the federal government includes annual inspection surveys, staffing levels and number of Registered Nurse staff, and quality health measures of the residents cared for by the facility.
