CHS Sports Spurts - Soccer & Volleyball News

The Cavegirl soccer team, in a bid to pick up their third victory of the year, lost to the Goddard Rockets 3-2 in the Cavern City on Tuesday, September 3. With the loss, Carlsbad’s girls fell to 2-2 on the year.

On August 30-31 at the Las Cruces Centennial Invitational, the Cavegirls split with the Santa Teresa Warriors and Organ Mt. Knights. Carlsbad toppled the Warriors 2-0 but lost a tight 2-1 encounter with the Knights.

On Thursday, September 5, CHS entertained the Centennial Hawks. Due to Carlsbad Local deadlines, the results of that matchup will be posted next week, September 13.

On Saturday, September 7, the Cavegirls will host the Mayfield Trojans at 2 p.m. The JVs play first at noon. (Game Stats Unavailable)

The Cavemen soccer team fell to 1-4 after dropping three games at the Las Cruces Centennial Invitational on Aug. 30-31.

CHS battled hard but came up a bit short in losses to Las Cruces 1-1 (Shootout), Santa Teresa 2-0, and Deming 1-0.

The Cavemen will next participate in the Roswell Invitational. The two-day tournament will kick off on Friday, September 6, and run through Saturday, September 7. (Game Stats Unavailable)

The Cavegirl Volleyball team, on Tuesday night, September 3, captured their first win of the season under the direction of new head coach Taylor Hardison with a 3-0 victory over the Lovington Wildcats. With the win, CHS now sits at 1-3 on the year.

The Cavegirls will compete at the Moriarty Invitational on Friday and Saturday, September 6-7. (Game Stats Unavailable)
