Cavemen Rout Lovington Wildcats 49-31

Following a slow start that saw them score just 19 points against the Lovington Wildcats during the first two quarters of play, the Cavemen turned on the jets for the final two to light up the scoreboard for 30.

The second-half explosion propelled CHS (11-4) past the Wildcats 49-31 in Carlsbad on Tuesday, January 14.

Leading the way for the Cavemen were Kyran Orgain with 19 points and Shane Sullivan with 15.

The Cavemen will entertain the Las Cruces Bulldawgs on Friday, January 17, at 4 p.m., 5:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. On Saturday, January 18, they’ll host the Centennial Hawks at 11 a.m., 12:30 p.m., and 2 p.m.

Knights Edge Cavemen 47-41

Behind the Organ Mt. Knights, 21-11 at the break, Carlsbad battled back to win the second half 30-26. But the CHS effort fell six points shy of the Organ Mt. lead, and they fell to the Knights 47-41.

Kyran Orgain, with 13 points and six rebounds, and Shane Sullivan, with 11 points and seven rebounds, led the Cavemen effort. Senior guard Jacob Chavarria registered six assists. (January 9 in Las Cruces)

Cavemen Ground Trojans 67-58

Down 18-10 after first-period play, the Cavemen woke up to outscore the Mayfield Trojans 57-40 over the final three to down the Las Cruces team 67-58.
